This Friday was the last ever run of theSubculture’s 80s hoo-ha Frankie Goes to Subculture in Leeds. Established at the nearby Bar Phono (RIP) it provided a monthly throwback to all things cheesy and cherished about the 80s. Lurid wall colours, synthpop, and a vodka+mixer for less than £2. “Love Will Tear Us Apart” sandwiched between “Safety Dance” and “I Should Be So Lucky”, and the goths mingling with the nu-rave teens.
