Three Things: New on my iPod
- Justice – †. Please don’t listen to the album on shuffle the first time you play it. There are three dreadful songs on this album, that follow an uninspiring electro-by-numbers formula that I struggled to find exciting, and it would give you completely the wrong impression about this band were you to hear one of them first. The rest of the album is interesting, fun, beatsy music. Sunglasses are advised.
- Pendulum – In Silico. A great mixture of early 90s indie and dance. It sounds like that Primal Scream/Stone Roses/Inspiral Carpets sort of mixture, but with more punch and groove. Basically, I fucking love it.
- Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back. Not new, but something that disappeared during a change of mp3 players. It is brilliant, and listening to it now, it’s clear to see just how many bands have referenced their work – especially lyrically – in the past 15 years.
