mydeco.com goes live

It’s a magazine, it’s a social network, it’s a shopping directory, an interior design tutorial, platform for budding designers to liaise with legends in the field…it takes the best of facebook, imagini, last.fm and wordpress and rolls them all into one multifunctional and user-friendly design tool in a web 2.0 format.

mydeco brings together the widest possible range of products from high street stores to niche retailers, thousands of inspiring looks to fit your budget, expert designers on hand for advice, and simple 3D tools to help you plan your room before you even open a tin of paint. You can also join our community to share ideas, swap decorating tips and show off your designs. It’s the total home package.

Born out of Brent Hoberman’s (founder of lastminute.com) own interior design crisis, a team of design-and-technology savvy individuals have been working away for the best part of a year to bring us http://www.mydeco.com. It serves what it set out to achieve – the role of an “interior designer friend on their day off”. Drafting in award-winning new designers and members of the style elite, the site is set to be the premier virtual hub for the connoisseur and clumsy alike.

The current tag line says it all: mydeco – it’s wipe your feet and come on in

(oh yes, and it features some of my copywriting)
