The Kiss Off

The Kiss Off are a shoegaze-indie-pop band that, unlike a lot of their contemporaries, do not come off as a throwback to the 80s, despite citing Bauhaus, Kate Bush, and post-Ziggy Bowie among their key influences. There’s an understated complexity to their music, and they manage to translate something vital about the direction of the modern scene.

Formed only a year ago in Brooklyn, NY, this five-piece released their self-promoted debut EP Brace this week. You can get it for $9.99 through insound.com, and streaming at their myspace site.
