Wardour Facelift

I was in Soho yet again last night for a dinner meeting. As I turned into the much-explored Wardour Street, I was surprised to see a new range of bars and restaurants open at its north end, including yet more Japanese/Thai fusion places.

One that caught my eye in particular was new French bistro Côte which, already successful in Wimbledon, seems set to fill the (surprising, for the area) void of reasonably priced French food. Besides chain restaurant Pierre Victoire and Cafe Boheme (more famous for its drinks than its cuisine) one usually struggles to find a good minuet steak in Soho. The restaurant also replaces Soho Spice, which never really grew into a favourite for most of London’s curryistas. Not a high bar to jump over, then, but high expectations for this new eatery nonetheless.
